Estimating how much space you will need for your storage items can be simple if you know what you want to store.  Here are some simple steps to help you plan and execute your storage solution.

1.   Start by making a list of the items you plan to store.

2.   Group the items according to how you will organize them.

Identify items that will be packed in totes and stacked.  Next, prioritize the items you will want to access most

frequently (they'll go closer to the front of the unit).  Then group by fragility and weight - heavier, sturdier items should

be stored on the bottom of stacked items, fragile items on top.  Then consider awkwardly-sized items that won't stack

well, including how often you will need to use them, and how heavy they are.

3.   Make note of how these items will be packed and organized.

Boxes and containers should be of uniform size, and should be stacked no more than three - or four high, depending on

the size and strength of the containers you use.  Consider using heavy-duty plastic stackable drawers for easy access

            to small stored items.

4.   Choose your size.

We have several size options on site.  Please click HERE for a quick-reference guide, to give you an idea of what would fit

in each size for household items or business items, to help you choose.  If you don't see anything in our list that suits your

needs, please send us message or call and we can assess your needs and see if we have something that may work for

you.  We have been able to tailor to some unique requests.  Please give us the opportunity to see if we can be of

           assistance.

5.   Contact us.

          @ 613-478-5872 or via storage@rashotte.ca

Check vacancies and arrange signing a rental agreement for the unit of your choice.  Our agreement is on a month to

month basis.   We understand that your storage needs may fluctuate and we are willing to accommodate that.

Payments are due on a monthly basis by the first of the month.  We have a credit card pre-authorization procedure to sign

up for to eliminate the hassle of remembering this monthly payment to make.

6.   Protect your belongings.

You will need to supply your own lock for your unit.  If you already have one great.  If not, visit Rashotte Home

Hardware Building Centre @ 18 Countryman Road and Hwy 37 to pick one out.  There is a nice selection available and                key cutting service, should you require additional keys.

Insure your belongings.  It is your responsibility to obtain insurance coverage on what you are storing in your unit.  We

suggest contacting your insurance agent/broker to see what options are available to you.

7.   You are ready to move in.
